At Thunzi, more is entirely possible, not only is this Lodge situated within the indigenous coastal forest, but it is also a nature and bird lovers paradise, so pack your hiking shoes and binoculars and head out on one of the three trails on the reserve.
When checking in you are made to feel at home by the lodge staff, not only is your every need tended to, every Covid-19 safety measure is in place to ensure your stay not only meets regulations but is in-fact a safe one.
Each chalet is neatly tucked away amongst trees and meandering paths with breath taking views of wetlands and the surrounding indigenous forest. These fully equipped self-catering units not only boast en-suite full bathrooms, king sized beds one could curl up in for hours and the sounds of nature, but each chalet also has it’s very own private braai place and outdoor seating area.
One bedroom for a romantic get-away or two bedrooms for families are available.
With activities such as picnics, fishing, hiking, beach walks and sand boarding… the thought of extending your stay will definitely cross your mind.
Thunzi Bush Lodge has the perfect picnic spot, whether you are looking for a romantic setting for two, a celebration amongst friends or colleagues or a family treat. The friendly staff will set up your picnic area with a Japanese style table, cushions and blankets, cutlery and crockery and glasses, you are most welcome to bring your own picnic basket or make your own selection from menus provided.
If opting to allow Thunzi to cater for your picnic, you will not be disappointed, not only is the picnic basket and table well presented, but there are also plenty of eats and treats to go around. The picnic spots are available throughout the day, Tuesday to Sunday with the last picnic of the day at sunset. Sipping on a sundowner whilst watching the setting sun and listening as the sounds of nature come alive under a string of fairy lights is, I must say a real treat.
